City Auditor Keith Alexander
Keith Alexander was appointed City Auditor effective July 1, 2002. The Auditor serves as the city's fiscal officer, and maintains accurate records of all funds, revenue receipts, and expenditures. In additon, the Auditor accounts for all city assets. The Auditor and his staff assist the Mayor in preparing the annual budget, as well as tracking capital improvements. Alexander also serves on the Mayor's task force for economic development.
For the last 11 years running, the City has received the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States.
The Administrative Services Department is under the direction of the City Auditor, and is responsible for the functions of budget, tax collection, utility billing, fiscal control, data processing, insurance, and public information.
The Administrative Services Department consists of two divisions - the Tax Department and the Finance Department.
