Tax Department
The Income Tax Department is under the direction of the Tax Commissioner who is responsible for the collection and administration of the City's one and one-half percent earnings tax and the hotel excise tax. In addition, the Tax Department offers direct tax assistance services to all residents and businesses.
Currently four full time employees staff the Income Tax Department. This staff is responsible for registering all new residents and businesses that move into or locate in the City. They process over 6,000 annual tax returns each year, 400 monthly filings for employers, and over 1,100 quarterly filings by employers, businesses and residents combined.
The Income Tax Department is located in the Heath City Municipal Building at 1287 Hebron Rd. The office hours are: M-F 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM During Peak Tax Season, the Income Tax Office is also open on Saturday mornings between the hours of 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon during the month of April.
Anne Gilbert is the current Tax Commissioner for the City of Heath. She has worked in the Income Tax Department for 15 years, and as Tax Commissioner since February 1991. She is an active member of the Greater Ohio Association of Taxing Administrators (GOATA) and Central Area Taxing Administrators (CATA), attending meetings and training seminars throughout the year. Anne and her staff make every effort to assist anyone with tax concerns or questions, in a professional and courteous manner.
